I never heard of a temperance lecturer (and we’re not that far removed from it’s heyday), so I peeped that out. Took me to interesting tidbits, including an excerpt from the work of a Mr. Charles Jewett (1807-1879). It’s unfortunate, in my opinion, that people step in to control the lives of others. Also, it is saddening that humans are creatures of extremes, lacking in discipline to be moderate, thus affecting others’ peace of mind. I often learn when I visit here : )
