BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES was the second film in the classic series. This was always my favorite      ( although the first one was actually a PERFECT movie ) — my only complaint about BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES is that RODDY MC DOWALL was not in this one — but you can’t have everything I guess.  Here is a look at this very underrated SCIENCE FICTION MASTERPIECE ….                                                                            beneath-the-planet-of-the-apes-movie-poster-1020221553james-franciscus-beneathplanetapes-094beneath-uk-lobby-04beneaththeplanetoftheapes02beneath-the-planet-of-the-apes-mutantsBeneath-The-Planet-Of-The-Apesbeneath-the-planet-of-the-apesbeneath-the-planet-of-the-apes-ursus-1beneath-the-planet-of-the-apes-ursusbeneath-the-planet-of-the-apes-3beneath-the-planet-of-the-apes-bombbeneath-the-planet-of-the-apes-james-franciscusbeneath-the-planet-of-the-apes-mutantsBENEATH-THE-PLANET-OF-THE-APES-1970Beneath-the-Planet-of-the-Apes (1)beneath-planet-of-the-apes-02beneath-the-planet-of-the-apes-taylorbeneath-the-planet-of-apeslarge-screenshot2 (2)740full-beneath-the-planet-of-the-apes-screenshotbeneathapes2beneath-the-planet-of-the-apes (1)

  1. This piece certainly brings back a lot of nostalgic memories for me.

The first issue of Famous Monsters of Filmland Magazine I ever saw and also ever bought was in Cam’s News and Confectionary in the small city of Drumheller, Alberta, Canada.

But I remember distinctly it had a picture of Beneath The Planet of The Apes on the cover.

And it marked the beginning of a beautiful friendship reading Forrest J. Ackerman’s monsterously good magazine.

Which of course led me to Vampirella magazine eventually and caused me to fall in love 😍 with sexy vampiress heroines.

That love affair later inspired me to write my series of vampire novels featuring such delightful sexy vampiresses and the rest as they say is History. 😀

    1. I think that FORREST J ACKERMAN may probably be the main reason that I ended up becoming a life-long HORROR and SCI-FI fan — I was sort of obsessed with WARREN MAGAZINES as a kid — never grew out of it.
